60 Second Shakespeare

What an irresistable title, eh? 60 Second Second Shakespeare is a BBC project that encourages students to create brief audio or video of Shakespeare scenes – or the whole play if they can squeeze it in. Personally, I was fond of “Macbeth in 60 Seconds” (“Kill Duncan!”  “I don’t know … .”  “Do it!”  “Okay.”).  Site content contains not only the submissions (which you can rate with a thumbs up or thumbs down) but also tips and tutorials on acting, editing, sound and more. There are plenty of other fun things to explore on the site, as well. This is a great model for using technology to engage students in a classic activity that works from K through 20: retelling the story.
