internet archive

The Internet Archive is a collection of Internet sites, text, audio and more. “Like a paper library,” the website says, “we provide free access to researchers, historians, scholars and the general public.” Support for the project comes from the National Science Foundation, The Library of Congress and several others. The variety is interesting. Today, for example, you can find video of William Wyler’s WWII-era documentary film of The Memphis Belle, music from the Grateful Dead (1976), and text of People of Paradise (1960 by David Attenborough, concerning customs and rituals of the Tonga, Fiji and New Hebrides peoples).
