the dead words funeral

For Friday Fluff, I’m posting a terrific fourth grade assignment that would have worked for my high school English students and, frankly, wouldn’t be a bad exercise for some college students. It’s the Dead Words Funeral. My favorite part is when the student mourners are interviewed. “Pretty was a very good friend … she is survived by … beautiful, gorgeous and attractive.” *sniff* “Small was my best friend, but then about four days ago his life came to a halt. I will think of him now as miniature, petite, microscopic and teeny.” Obviously this was a fun way to learn a lesson, and the teacher used some simple tools (camera + YouTube) to share the idea with others. Very nice.
