Harry survives the war to end all wars

If you follow the adventures of WWI veteran Harry Lamin, grandfather of the blogger of WWI: Experiences of an English Soldier, then you know he has made it to Armistice Day – celebrated today, 90 years later, as Veteran’s Day. Harry’s letters will continue to be published in the blog at a 90-year delay, and apparently there is a book in the offing. Read some of the readers’ reactions to Harry’s story here.

I’m having difficulty embedding this video, so here’s the link to this MSNBC report from earlier this year on Harry and the blog: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/23073595#23073595.

  1. Another active blog featuring the writings of a US soldier during WWI is Soldier’s Mail: Letters Home from a New England Soldier 1916-1919. Come march along with Sgt. Sam Avery at http://worldwar1letters.wordpress.com
