fun with words and pics

This is a fun site: piclits. Choose a photo, then choose words to create a poem or word image. You can also go freestyle and write your own words. Then you can save and share your photo. It took me about 10 minutes to learn to use it … and that included agonizing about which photo and words to use. The result is below. The site also has some instructional information about poetry suitable for helping K-12 students explore poetry as form.

Enjoy your weekend … and stay warm!

  1. Thanks for the kudos regarding PicLits.com. We are reaching out to language arts teachers and ESL/ELL teachers to use PicLits as a tool for not only creative writing but to improve basics such grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, and even spelling. DRAG-N-DROP is particularly useful for the above mentioned items.
There some basic lesson ideas under “LEARN IT” including the section on poetry called “MASTER IT”. Any ideas or feedback would be terrific. We have over 7K in registered users and are averaging about 16K in page views per day.
    Thanks again
