Bb9 has landed

The new release of  Blackboard 9 is up at the University of Kentucky, and the upgrade process is complete (although the tweaking continues).

Instructors of continuing or renewed courses may be surprised to find that the course menu appears as a large white area with no visible links. Here’s a quick fix to make them reappear:

  • Look for your Control Panel below the course menu (left column).
  • Click Customization.
  • Click Style.
  • On the right of your screen, click Submit, at either the top or bottom, to activate the default settings. (You don’t actually have to change anything; just click Submit.)

Reminder: If you’re starting a summer course today, don’t forget to make your course Available in the following way:

  • On your Control Panel at the lower left, click Customization.
  • Click Properties.
  • In 3. Availability, click Yes.
  • Be sure to Submit (either top or bottom).

Be sure to visit the Blackboard Help Web page at for much more information. Our IT partners at the UK Customer Service Center (the Help Desk) stand ready to help you at 257-1300.
